Barrell Whiskey 18 Year Cabernet Sauvignon & Sauternes Barrels is a cask-strength blend from Barrell Craft Spirits’ limited Black Label Series — 18-year-old Kentucky whiskey finished in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels blended with 23 to 25-year-old Canadian whiskies finished in Sauternes barrels, bottled at 125.24 proof (62.62% ABV).
The Black Label Series is Barrell’s program for extremely limited, high-age blends and experimental finishing. Here, two component streams are matured independently before blending: the Cabernet Sauvignon barrels bring firm tannin, dark fruit, and savory warmth, while the Sauternes barrels add honeyed sweetness and a rounder texture. Bottled at full cask strength, it keeps its natural weight, heat, and layered complexity — whiskey-forward, with the wine casks adding structure and richness rather than dominating.
