Cutwater Rayador Tequila Blanco is the unaged tequila from Cutwater’s Rayador line — produced in Jalisco, Mexico from 100% Blue Weber agave slow-cooked in traditional brick ovens, open fermented, and double distilled in traditional alambique stills made of stainless and copper, producing a slight grassy freshness on the nose that gives way to heavy sweet cooked agave notes with a traditional finish.
The Rayador name — and the skull label imagery — honors the Rayador bird (Black Skimmer), a seabird known for its elegance and precision. The traditional brick oven cooking and open fermentation are deliberate production choices that preserve more of the agave’s natural character than modern autoclave production achieves.
