Greywacke Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand) – Benchmark NZ Sauv Blanc with intensity.
Wine Advocate Review
Rated 94
The 2025 Sauvignon Blanc leads with a soft nose of musk sticks and brine, green apple skins, wet linen and green olive tapenade. In the mouth, the wine is tightly coiled and yet textured by pithy phenolics. The length of the flavor is long, as we have come to expect from Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc. This is a superb wine in any vintage. Greywacke is a member of the Appellation Marlborough Wine (AMW). 13% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
Wine Tasting Notes
Greywacke Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of cassis and passionfruit first to emerge, with guava, crisp pear and white peach adding a delicious intricacy. On the palate, it is generous yet refreshing, with ripe pineapple and a lime sherbet zing, layered with elderflower and hints of citrus blossom. A classic example of GreywackeÂ’s interpretation of the famous Marlborough style – ripe, textural and scrumptious, with the volume turned well down.
