Casa Herradura’s commitment to extended aging is the thread running through the entire lineup: the Blanco rests 46 days, the Reposado ages 11 months (vs. 2-month minimum), and the Añejo ages 25 months (vs. 12-month minimum). Each expression exceeds its category’s requirements by a substantial margin. At 25 months, the Añejo has developed the deep gold color and the complex herbal, cedar, and citrus character that emerges when highland agave spirit has had two full years of American oak contact — not the whiskey-adjacent darkness of longer-aged extra añejo, but a fully developed, medium to full-bodied spirit where the agave origin is still recognizable underneath the oak and spice complexity.
