Ketel One Vodka

Ketel One is a Dutch wheat vodka produced by the Nolet family in Schiedam, Holland, using a production method that has remained largely unchanged since Carl Nolet Sr. established the family distillery in 1691 — wheat spirit column-distilled and then redistilled in traditional copper pot stills, blended with grain neutral spirit and filtered through loose charcoal, producing the crisp, clean character with gentle cereal sweetness and mild spice that has made it the benchmark martini vodka for bartenders worldwide.

The copper pot still redistillation is the production detail that distinguishes Ketel One from vodkas produced entirely on column stills: copper removes sulfur compounds during distillation and the pot still’s shape and heating dynamics produce more flavor complexity than high-efficiency column stills alone. The Nolet family has maintained the original copper pot still — Distilleerketel #1, from which the vodka takes its name — as part of the production process for over three centuries. The result is a vodka with more character and texture than standard neutral vodkas while remaining clean and versatile enough to disappear gracefully into cocktails.
