Port Askaig – 28 year old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl 45.8% ABV

A limited edition Port Askaig 28 Year Old, available in Asia and Europe only. Only 3000 bottles are being released The 28 Year is a single Islay malt created from a small, specially selected batch of refill American oak hogsheads with unknown provenance! Nose – Herbal, minty and pine resin freshness. A little brine and menthol cigarette smoke. Coastal with a maritme savouriness. Ginger. Very crisp and rather medicinal, but also a slight nuttiness and faint fruitiness. Palate – Dry, with brine, roasted nuts, again resinous and grassy in the middle. herbal, smokey tea and ginger again. Fresh walnuts and liquorice. Also a faint buttery side and delicate and little citrus fruit. Finish – Leafy, herbal with tart grapefruit and bonfire ashes.
