Teeling Whiskey Company was founded in 2012 by Jack and Stephen Teeling — grandsons of John Teeling, who founded Cooley Distillery in 1987. The family reopened the Teeling Whiskey distillery in the Liberties district of Dublin in 2015, the first new distillery in Dublin in over 125 years. The Small Batch represents the accessible face of the Teeling range — a blend that prioritizes approachability and cocktail versatility while the rum cask finish adds a tropical sweetness and dried fruit character that distinguishes it from standard Irish blend expressions. More human interaction goes into each batch than automated blending allows: hand-selection of casks, blending to taste, and finishing in specifically chosen rum barrels.
